Bodywork: hands-on & classes
Shiatsu 1:2:1
Some clients use Shiatsu for long-term health maintenance, receiving treatments monthly or even just twice a year. Others, receive only a few sessions to shift an acute problem. Either way, is fine. Sessions last about one hour and are received fully clothed on a comfortable floor mat. After a brief discussion about what you want from the session (e.g., pain relief, better sleep, reduced habitual worry) I assess your ‘system’, in silence. I have a non-judgmental confidential somatic ‘dialogue’ with your body which enables me to sense what is going on beneath your awareness. Adjustments are suggested rather than imposed on your body. After the session, I offer feedback and suggestions which you may find useful.
“I wish I had come to see Cindy sooner. Amazing! Such a relief to feel my body readjusting, and my neck setting itself straight again! Cindy is a fantastic practitioner, she makes one feel relaxed and confident in the process, instinctively finding and alleviating the problems.”
“Shiatsu has become a great way to relieve tension and stress from all parts of the body and enables much more movement in the muscles and joints, a very good way to relax and unwind.”

Classes
Qigong (Lotus neigong affiliated)
Join one of my regular Qigong workshops in Norfolk and Suffolk (UK) or online zoom classes. Although there is always laughter, we take our mindful movement seriously. Practitioners commit to a block of classes, and are open to self discovery--finding how to shift challenges or discomforts to enable personal development. There are many excellent forms of mindful movement (yoga, perhaps, being the most popular) but I find progress in traditional practice of Qigong and neigong. Once we get past linguistic and cultural misunderstandings, these practices are profoundly informative for managing health and well-being.
As a certified instructor of Lotus Neigong International my classes make sure that everyone has access to the foundations they need to make progress with any of the senior teachers within the school. As a biologist interested in physiological correlates of behavior, and qualified in fascial fitness by biomechanics pioneer Robert Schleip, I also bring some biology to these ancient arts. I wrote the Foreword for Damo Mitchell's book, 'Nei gong: Taoist process of internal change' (Singing Dragon), and was editor of Master Lam's book, 'Walking Chi Kung' (Gaia books).
Sunday morning online classes x2/month. Email me your interest and I will include you in the zoom invite.
“Thanks to you, Qigong has become the most important thing in my life. My skills have developed so much in the last 3 years since you have become my teacher. You're a very big part of my life, so thank you thank you thank you.”
